Summer camp is back, and we have a place for everyone! Now is the time to register your child for healthy fun, friendship and new experiences. Camps open June 28 in most places. There’s lots of room for fun with our many locations and programs, including options for campers from ages 5 to 13.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have received a number of requests to call out the great work from people who have been serving on the front lines throughout this crisis.

Dinner’s ready for kids through YMCA Pick up two Grab-and-Go meals in Tacoma and Lakewood Families with kids under age 18 can pick up fresh food for dinner today and a shelf-stable meal for tomorrow through the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties.

As a Y family, our hearts and prayers are with the family of George Floyd and all those deeply impacted by his murder. While we acknowledge the verdict brought accountability in this case, our work to create an equitable community continues. We recognize this verdict does not detract from all those who have suffered, been harmed, or even killed at the hands of police violence.

Eric has recently rejoined the Y as a volunteer at the Lakewood Family YMCA to work with seniors to improve their physical and emotional well-being.

Our kids are spending countless hours in front of screens and are lacking much-needed physical activity and social engagement. As spring approaches, parents are seeking opportunities to get kids active and outdoors in a healthy and safe environment.
