Miss Manda: Connection, Healing, and a Fresh Start

Miss Manda TTFY Social Story
April 28, 2025

Meet Amanda Hall, known and loved by so many of our families as Miss Manda, a true light at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA!

When Amanda first walked through our doors in January 2023, she was searching for connection, healing, and a fresh start for herself and her daughters. At nearly 400lbs and navigating grief and social anxiety, she took a brave first step, not just for herself, but for her girls.

Since then, Amanda’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. She's down 105 pounds, stronger than ever, radiating confidence, energy, and joy, and rocking a 70+ day 11,000-step streak! Her secret? A deep love for group exercise, unwavering commitment, and the support of our amazing Y community. Shout out to her TRX fam, Commit Dance Fitness, and Water Aerobics crew - you all helped spark this transformation!

Amanda now gives back as a beloved instructor in our gymnastics, toddler gym, and art classes, bringing out the smiles, confidence, and creativity in every child she teaches. Whether she’s celebrating a first pullover, a dance recital, or being transformed into a sea siren for SFX art, her joy is contagious!

“Helping kiddos grow confidence, build friendships, and learn while connecting with families, it’s the best feeling in the world. The Y is my happy place.”

To Amanda, the Y means hope, community, and joy. And to us? She’s a daily reminder of what’s possible when you choose to show up and grow.

Let’s give it up for Miss Manda! An inspiration, a role model, and a heart of our Y family.
