Stay Cool and Safe at Your Local YMCA

As the heat of summer settles in, many YMCA community centers were open from July 8-9, 2024 to all in need of a break from the scorching temperatures. From our refreshing pools to air-conditioned lounges and socializing areas, we’re here to help our community members who need it.

During cooling events, guest fees are waived for all community members visiting our centers as a cooling center. Members of the public must sign a waiver and have their ID scanned prior to entry into any YMCA.

Our Inclement Weather Policy

The safety of our staff, members, and volunteers is a top priority at the Y. While we make every effort to keep the Y open and programs running to serve our community, we may cancel programs, delay opening, or close the facility because of severe weather, unsafe driving conditions, or power outages. Operating decisions are based on weather alerts, school delays and closures, road conditions, and the ability of Y staff to operate the facility safely.
