Join us for Fitness Fest, a week celebrating our classes and you, at the Gordon Family YMCA! Each day will be something new. Here's what's in store:

Guest Passes

YMCA members are eligible to claim up to 5 guest passes during Fitness Fest. This is the perfect opportunity to share everything the Y has to offer, from energizing group workouts to expansive fitness facilities – all in a supportive and welcoming community.

Monday, May 12 

7:15-8:15pm| Sound Bath 
A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants are immersed in soothing sounds and vibrations to promote a calming environment that helps restore balance within the body and mind. 

Tuesday, May 13 

8-9am | Deadlift Workshop 
Learn the basics of one of the most popular static, compound lifts - the deadlift! This workshop will cover proper posture, lifting position, and muscle engagement, as well as different grip options and styles of the deadlift. The deadlift is one of the most widely used lifts, from recreational participation to competitive powerlifting, CrossFit and Strongman!  Not only is the deadlift popular, but it is also a great strength builder and one of the lifts in which you have the most potential to move heavy weight. 

9-10am | Kettlebell Workshop 
Join us for a fun and engaging Beginner Kettlebell Workshop. This workshop will teach you the fundamentals of kettlebell training. You will be guided through proper techniques for key exercises such as deadlifts, squats, swings, and presses, while focusing on form, safety, and efficiency. 

Thursday, May 15 

6-7pm | Foam Roll Workshop 
Learn multiple techniques to use the foam roller as a tool to support recovery after workouts and prevent injury during workouts. Foam rolling helps relieve muscle tension to facilitate deeper, safer, and more effective stretching and joint mobility. 

6:45-7:45pm | Deadlift Workshop

Friday, May 16 

6:45-7:45pm | Fix Your Squat Workshop 
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, join this clinic that focuses on improving the quality of your squat and enhancing mobility, strength, and body awareness to ensure a safe and effective movement. 

Saturday, May 17 

11am-2pm | Personal Record (PR) Day 
Come to our PR Day to find your max lifts in the big 3 (squat, bench press, and deadlift)! If you are an experienced lifter, then you can try and beat your personal records! Either way, this is a great opportunity to meet other lifters and have fun in a safe and positive environment! 

Sunday, May 18 

9:30-11am | 90 minute Yoga Nidra 
Yoga Nidra is a powerful meditative practice that induces deep relaxation while maintaining full consciousness. Yoga Nidra offers numerous benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep, emotional healing, and enhanced mental clarity. 

10:45am-12:15pm | Beginner Yoga Workshop 
This workshop will provide an introduction to breath, alignment, and movement – the foundation of safe, accessible, and sustainable yoga practice. Yoga postures will be reviewed to address individual needs, with modifications provided as needed. Develop the foundational skills and knowledge to move with greater ease in body and mind both on and off of your mat.
