Join us for Fitness Fest, a week celebrating our classes and you, at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA! Each day will be something new. Here's what's in store:

Guest Passes

YMCA members are eligible to claim up to 5 guest passes during Fitness Fest. This is the perfect opportunity to share everything the Y has to offer, from energizing group workouts to expansive fitness facilities – all in a supportive and welcoming community.

Monday, May 12 

8:30-10am | Cycle and Stretch 
70-minute cycle followed by a focused 20-minute stretch, really pinpointing the muscle groups used in cycling as well as the upper body, which can sometimes feel stagnant after a long ride.                 

11-12:30pm | Vinyasa and Sculpt 
Think Barre meets Vinyasa in this functional mashup of the classics. Extended to 90 minutes to challenge the body and relax after a well-earned sweat.                 

4:15-5pm | Family Yoga 
A family-friendly vinyasa flow, shorter in duration than a typical class to ensure the attention of children is maintained. Vinyasa yoga will strengthen and lengthen your muscles and improve your balance and flexibility by taking you through various poses. You can expect a continuous flow as you connect your breath from pose to pose. 

6-7pm | Family Bootcamp 
This class is designed to push you to the edge of your limit while ensuring you have fun in the process. You will fire up your metabolism and target your cardio, strength, and muscular endurance without going over the edge. Equipment specifically selected to facilitate family participation and minimize risk (no KBs, focus on agility). 

 

Tuesday, May 13 

8:15-9:15am | Resistance Band Workshop 
This workshop will focus on the functional use of resistance bands through strength training so that you can take your workout on the go this summer. 

9:30-10:30am | Coffee and Connection 
Join us for Coffee & Connection - a relaxed, welcoming space to enjoy a warm cup and light conversation. Whether you're making new friends or catching up with familiar faces, this time is all about community and connection. 

10:45-11:45am | Silver and Fit Circuit 
Welcome to functional fitness!  We will move through a circuit-style of training that works cardio endurance, flexibility, core, balance, strength, and power. This low-impact class will utilize a variety of equipment to prepare you for real-life movement. 

5-6pm | Family Pilates 
Increase core strength through gentle rhythmic movements focusing on breath, flexibility, strength, and core stabilization. Use of equipment will vary from instructor to instructor. The music and moves are focused on helping all family members engage with their core muscles. 

6:45-7:45pm | Family Complete Conditioning 
An all-encompassing workout designed to produce total body results.  All fitness levels can benefit from Complete Conditioning, which aims to strengthen both your cardiovascular system and most muscle groups.  Exercises and equipment selected to facilitate family fun! 

 

Wednesday, May 14 

9-10am | Commit Sculpt Workshop and Intro 
Introducing the basics of COMMIT Sculpt! COMMIT Dance Fitness is a dynamic, fun-filled HIIT influenced (High intensity interval training) dance workout. Each routine focuses on essential fitness elements created for a variety of popular music from all over the world that will inspire everyone to get moving.  We incorporate light dumbbells to intensify the challenge of muscular endurance. 

11am-12:30pm | Flow and Yoga Nidra 
70 min flow followed by a 20 min Yoga Nidra practice; deep state of relaxation between wakefulness and sleep. A yoga teacher or master of the practice typically induces it through a guided meditation technique. 

6-7pm | Zumba Family Dance Party 
Get ready to groove at our Zumba Family Dance Party - a high-energy, all-ages event filled with fun music, easy-to-follow moves, and nonstop smiles! It’s the perfect way for families to get active and dance together in a vibrant, feel-good atmosphere. 

 

Thursday, May 15 

9-10:15am | Pilates 
A 75-minute extension of the classic 60 min practice. Increase core strength through gentle rhythmic movements focusing on breath, flexibility, strength, and core stabilization. Use of equipment will vary from instructor to instructor. 

9:30-10:30am | Surge Fit Party 
Surge Fit is the energizing HIIT workout that alternates athletic, high-intensity cardio tracks with high repetition training tracks designed to strengthen and define your body for maximum results. Surge tracks are music-driven and set to popular music you know and love. We will welcome guest instructors and fresh music! 

10:45-11:45am | Silver and Fit Circuit

A family-centered yin practice: first 15-20 minutes are playful with movement, then surrender into the yin practice. 

 

Friday, May 16 

11am-12pm | Vinyasa and Sound Bath 
45 min practice followed by 15 min resting pose immersion in sound. 

12:15-1:15pm | Coffee and Connection

5:30-6:45pm | Commit Dance Party 
Let loose and turn up the energy at our COMMIT Dance Party -  a fun fusion of dance and fitness that gets your heart pumping and feet moving. All levels are welcome for this high-energy, feel-good workout that feels more like a celebration! 

 

Saturday, May 17 

8am-12pm | Personal Record (PR) Day 
Come to our PR Day to find your max lifts in the big 3 (squat, bench press, and deadlift)! If you are an experienced lifter, then you can try and beat your personal records! Either way, this is a great opportunity to meet other lifters and have fun in a safe and positive environment! 

9:30-11am | Cycle 
Pedal your way to a stronger you in our energizing cycling class - a high-intensity, low-impact ride set to motivating music. Burn calories, build endurance, and have a blast with every turn of the wheel! 

10:45am-12:15pm | Zumba Dance Party 
Get ready to groove at our Zumba Dance Party - a high-energy event filled with fun music, easy-to-follow moves, and nonstop smiles!  This party is the perfect way to get active and dance together in a vibrant, feel-good atmosphere. 

10-11am | Family Tai Chi Basics Workshop 
Discover the power of mindful movement in our Tai Chi Basics workshop - a calming introduction to balance, breathing, and gentle flow. Perfect for beginners, this event helps reduce stress and improve flexibility in a welcoming, low-impact environment. 

11:30am-1:30pm | Volleyball Family Skills and Drills 
Bump, set, and spike your way into fun with our volleyball event, which is perfect for all skill levels to enjoy teamwork, movement, and friendly competition. Bring your game face and join us for a fun family time on the court! 

11:30am-1:30pm | Soccer Family Skills and Drills (at Swiftwater) 
Kick it into high gear at our soccer event - a fast-paced, family-friendly event focused on fun, fundamentals, and teamwork. Whether you're scoring goals or just getting started, there's something for everyone!
