Join us for Fitness Fest, a week celebrating our classes and you, at the University YMCA Student Center! Each day will be something new. Here's what's in store:

Guest Passes

YMCA members are eligible to claim up to 5 guest passes during Fitness Fest. This is the perfect opportunity to share everything the Y has to offer, from energizing group workouts to expansive fitness facilities – all in a supportive and welcoming community.

Meal Prep Posse
Check out Meals of the Week, where YMCA Health Coaches dish out simple, delicious meal ideas to help you level up your meal prep game. Swing by for new recipes and fresh inspiration, and don’t forget to bring your favorites to share with fellow members—we’re all about tasty meals and building healthy habits together! 

Power Pose Station 
Step into the Power Pose Station and strike your strongest stance—this is your moment to celebrate confidence, resilience, and everything that makes you powerful. Snap a photo, share your strength, and inspire others to own their power too. 

 

Monday, May 12 

9-9:45am | Squat Workshop 
Join us for a dynamic squat workshop designed to help you improve your form, build strength, and prevent injury. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your technique, our expert instructors will guide you through proper squat mechanics, offer personalized feedback, and share tips to enhance your performance. Don’t miss this chance to level up your fitness in a supportive and motivating environment! 

5-6pm | Kickboxing Workshop 
Learn the art of kickboxing while getting an incredible workout! This class focuses on teaching proper punching, kicking, and defensive techniques, helping you build skill and confidence. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each movement, ensuring you develop solid form while boosting your cardio and strength. Perfect for all levels. 

 

Tuesday, May 13 

11am-12pm | Women’s Health and Fitness
Join us for an empowering and transformative Women's Health & Fitness Workshop designed to help you take charge of your health and well-being! Whether you're new to fitness or a seasoned pro, this workshop will provide you with the tools, knowledge, and support to feel your best, inside and out. 

 

Wednesday, May 14 

9-9:45am | Bench Press Workshop 
Boost your upper body strength with our bench press workshop! Learn proper form, technique, and safety tips from expert instructors. Whether you’re a beginner or aiming to hit a new personal best, this workshop will help you improve your lift, prevent injury, and build confidence under the bar. 

 

Thursday, May 15 

3:30-5:30pm | NOVA Self Defense 
Special guest instructor Evan Dzierzynski from NOVA Self-Defense will lead a 2-hour workshop focusing on awareness, instincts, and decreasing your chances of becoming a target. You will participate in role-play scenarios and learn strategies and concepts for using voice, movement, setting boundaries, and escalating verbally and physically when needed. 

 

Friday, May 16 

9-9:45am | Deadlift Workshop 
Master the art of the deadlift! Discover proper form, technique, and strategies to lift safely and efficiently. Perfect for all experience levels, this session will help you build strength, prevent injury, and enhance your performance with guidance from our knowledgeable coaches. 

 

Saturday, May 17 

10-11am | Gym Equipment Q and A 
Curious how to use a machine or need assistance on form? This workshop allows you to ask questions directly to our coaches. Take advantage of this opportunity to level up your workouts! 

12-2pm | NOVA Self Defense
